Photo Detachment "A"
Bob
Hillerby may be typical of the soldier with a photography specialty
who never was directly assigned to Army Pictorial Center but served with
other units.
Hillerby
wrote, "After completing photography school at Ft. Monmouth, I was
assigned to the 69th Signal Battalion in Vietnam, September 1966. About
a month or two in Saigon, I was transferred to Photo Detachment "A" at
An Khe and spent the remainder of my tour there.
"I was a
Combat Photographer (84B20 Still Photographic Specialist) and worked in
that capacity throughout my time in Vietnam."
